About Me
founder of Little Ember Sleep Consultancy.
My journey into infant sleep consultancy is both professional and personal.
I have an Early Childhood degree, three years' experience working in nurseries and 14 years of experience as a primary school teacher. Throughout my career, I've supported children with different personalities, needs, abilities and family backgrounds — and I've learnt that there is never one approach that works for every child.
I'm also a mum of two.
When I had my first baby, I experienced first-hand just how difficult sleep deprivation can be. She would only settle by feeding to sleep and would wake frequently throughout the night — sometimes every hour. I became completely exhausted and felt like I had lost myself.
Sleep deprivation had a huge impact on my well-being, and I know how difficult it can be to admit that you're struggling when everyone around you tells you what a wonderful job you're doing.
Finding an approach that helped my baby sleep changed so much for our family. Suddenly we had our evenings back, naps became more consistent and she started sleeping through the night. I finally got the sleep I needed and felt like myself again. I want to give other parents the support, understanding and reassurance that we found during that time.
Hi, I’m Claire…
How I Can Help
I understand exactly what it feels like to dread bedtime, to do the maths on how little sleep you'll get before the next waking, and to feel like you've lost your evenings, your energy and a bit of yourself along the way. That understanding is at the heart of how I work — every plan I build starts with really listening to you, without judgment, about what your days and nights actually look like.
My approach is holistic rather than one-size-fits-all. I look closely at your baby's sleep logs alongside things like diet, daily activities and temperament, because sleep is never just about sleep — it's connected to everything else going on for your baby and your family. From there, I build a bespoke, room-based plan that respects your instinct not to leave your baby to cry, while gently guiding them towards more independent, settled sleep.
Working with me feels calm and collaborative, not clinical. You'll get a clear, tailored plan, a real conversation to talk it through properly, and three weeks of ongoing support so you're never left to figure out a wobble on your own. I know plans need adjusting as real life happens, and I'll be right there with you through that.
If you're finding yourself exhausted, touched-out, and quietly worried you can't carry on this way — please know that this is exactly who I help, and that things really can get better without compromising on the gentle, nurturing care you want to give your baby.
